The ILCA 6 / Laser Radial composite lower mast section is designed to demonstrate the same bend and performance characteristics as the aluminum sections. While there should be no performance advantage, the composite sections eliminate the bending problems associated with aluminum spars.
- Composite tubes designed and engineered by CST Composites in Australia;
- ILCA gooseneck and mast tang fittings
- Reinforcing bands at gooseneck and mast base, and stainless steel protective bands at deck and mast step/hull level known wear points.
